The Scary Monster Insect
By admin | Juni 26, 2010
During a morning walk in our tropical garden
in Chiang Mai, North Thailand, I discovered that
scary monster insect sitting on a branch of one of the trees.
The insect looked frightful and I called our Thai photographer Nat
to try to get a few macro shots of that monster.
The scary monster made no move to escape,
which made us a bit wary.
Nat told me to be careful, it´s a “Malaeng Men”,
a stink bug, which sprays a abominably stinking liquid to aggressors.
Later on, we figured out, that it was more illusion than reality.
The scary monster insect was just an empty hull of a cicada grub.
